Water
If your home or business has experienced flooding of any type or had your sewers back up, the period immediately following can be stressful and confusing. Identifying the source, dealing with affected contents, drying and repairs are just some of the considerations. Firstonsite has the experience and know-how to effectively deal with your damage situation and help you get your home or business back to normal.
Understanding Drying
Our technicians have been trained in the proper use of a variety of testing equipment to establish how, where and to what degree drying should be carried out (I.I.C.R.C. Certification)

Building Diagnostics
Moisture in building materials can destroy structural integrity and nurture mold. The first step in moisture problem remediation is to quickly and accurately locate and remove all sources of moisture. Infrared cameras instantly show you what’s wet and what’s dry. IR cameras can instantly find the ultimate source with little or no physical disassembly of the premises and minimal disturbance of inhabitants. (Click here for more information)

Thermal Imaging
One of the latest developments in accurate investigation of moisture content is the use of thermal imaging technology. By means of infrared rays a thermal imaging camera projects a sensory beam that measures the differences in surface temperature. A trained professional is able to interpret the results similar to an x-ray physician’s ability to interpret diagnostic imaging results in a hospital. The sophistication of today’s instrumentation along with extensive training is what enables Firstonsite professionals to certify that buildings are dry.
Dry Heat System
The Dry Heat System directs high volume preconditioned dry heated air into the property and assisted by air movers, moves this dry air into contact with surfaces. Heated surfaces cause evaporation. This moist heated air is then expelled to the outside until the structure is dry. The benefit of this type of technology is that in many cases wet contents (furniture etc.) and building material (dry wall etc.) will be dried without the need to remove them, which significantly reduces cost.

Monitoring
Testing and monitoring throughout the drying process allows our technicians to employ the right method to ensure that your property is safely dried. This further testing is referred to as monitoring. At the time of monitoring, technicians determine the need to reposition equipment as necessary. Due to the need for this progressive testing our technicians will require entry into areas affected throughout the drying process.
Contents
Not to be overlooked is the fact that contents, which have become wet, can be of equal concern. From valuable pictures and documents to furniture and electronics, the right response and proper handling is needed. Firstonsite has the technology to stabilize and restore your valuables.
